... and he is awake!
So, as I mentioned, PenDell was started on steroids last Friday. Steroids have some very unfortunate side effects, such as it acts like he dropped speed so he can’t sleep much and gets anxious.
The GOOD news is that he is waking up a bit from the brain fog that he has been in. He is starting to attempt to communicate and is finding some words and is following commands and prompts. His best words right now are “I love you.” I realized that I say “I love you” to him repeated throughout the day so it makes sense that those would be his strongest words! So, based on this realization, I will be repeating more important phrases to him as we go through our days!
We are still waiting for any clues from the brain biopsy. The docs check in with me every day. They are as eager to get results as I am. They are encouraged by PenDell’s progress as well!
So, for now, we continue to wait… gracefully, patiently wait.
As ever, thank you. I am forever grateful to each of you for the support, love, encouragement, gifts, contributions to help with finances, surround, texts, emails, visits, laundry, meals, doggie love for Sadie and so much more.
I am humbled, honored and blessed.
