... and wait!
So, really good news is that PenDell was awake for a couple of hours yesterday and has been awake for stretches of time today.
I have seen all of the doctors and they are telling me that it is still too early to know anything from the biopsy but they are all hopeful.
We finally got an ophthalmologist to come today to look at PenDell’s eyes. His right eye has been inflamed throughout this journey. Apparently, it is very challenging to get an ophthalmologist to the hospital. In looking back, I have told the doctors that PenDell’s right eye may have been the first sign of something going on (now that I can see the chain of events). His right eye became red and inflamed just a few days before this whole experience began.
I am feeling encouraged because he is awake. I am feeling hopeful that we will be able to determine a cause from the results of the biopsy. They are discussing next steps but everything is on hold until we get the results from the biopsy.
In the meantime, Evan came to visit and took me out for a beautiful dinner for my birthday – best sushi I have ever eaten! Neither of us can remember ever taking time like that, just the two of us. What a special, special evening.
Erin comes down and spends time with us while doing her homework a couple of times a week. Sometimes she stays overnight so we have a slumber party! More special, special evenings!
I remain ever grateful for the connection to all of you… so grateful.
Blessings, gratitude and love, love, love!
